ITINERARY bird watching in Tepapary in the sector of Gareno - 4 to 8-DAYS tour
The community of Tepapary is located in the province of Napo adjoined to the Yasuni National Park and Pastaza.

Ornithology is a complex pastime. It is the art of recognising different bird species according to their plumage or birdsong. Many create lists that show the quantity of birds in a given area whilst others create life lists i.e. they list all the species that they have seen in their lives. Everyone has their own way of approaching ornithology. Some are simply happy to enjoy the richness of the natural environments they find themselves in whilst others are fascinated to study the science behind the study of birds which is also known as birding or birdwatching.

Tepapary: is an off-the-beaten-track place not visited by other tour agencies or guides. In this jungle there exists a great variety of birds from those who eat worms to larger species. There are toucans, macaws, oropendolas, jacamars, hoatzins, owls, cuckoos, herons, woodpeckers, cocois, trogons, bucos, nunbirds and caciques. With luck you can see harpy eagles and more. All these species inhabit the banks of small lagoons, estuaries and rivers so can be found easily. The land is flat and so easy to walk around and suitable for all ages. We guarantee that in this Waorani reserve, 100% of the forest is virgin and primary and you can find nearly all bird species found in Yasuni or Cuyabeno and other areas near Coca.
